Emilia Adelöw

Emilia Adelöw was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1977. Educated as a dancer and choreographer in Sweden and Norway.

Emilia grew up in Umeå – the northern parts of Sweden – before returning to Stockholm for one year of dance education and later to Gothenburg for three years at Gothenburg Ballet Academy. In year 2000 she moved to Oslo, Norway to start her choreographic studies at The Oslo National Academy of the Arts, department of Choreography.

After graduation three years later she has had her artistic base in Oslo and presented several dance performances, happenings in private and public spaces as well as produced short dance films. She has collaborated with different Norwegian performers, composers, scenographers, photographers and movie editors. She has received numeros grants for exploring further work and attended at choregraphic competisions abroad.

Sudesh Adahana, Dancer
Born in 1979 in New Delhi, India. Lives and works in Oslo, Norway. He has a BA in Modern and Contemporary Dance, from National Collage of Art (Khio) in Oslo, earlier educated in Mayurbhanj Chhau at Bhartiya Kala Kendra and Kathakali from International Kathakali Centre in New Delhi. Adhana has choreographed and performed 5 full-length dance productions. He has worked with leading choreographers and participating in national and international dance productions in India, Norway, Japan, Singapore, UK, and USA. He is currenty working on 3 new dance projects in Paris, Norway and New Delhi, India in 2009/2010.

Elisabeth Breen, Dancer
Bachelor in contemporary dance from Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. After her education in Oslo, she has spent time in Amsterdam, Massachusetts and New York to learn from different choreographers and teachers, like Nancy Stark Smith. She’s been teaching at Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo, and she has worked with Kristine Karåla Øren and Bruno Caverna. This is her first production with Emilia Adelöw.

Ella Christina Fiskum, Dancer
Comes from Trondheim, has education from Oslo, St. Petersburg, and Stuttgart. She works as a dancer, choreographer and producer, and has choreographed solos and group works, and has directed opera works. She has toured in Europe, Canada, and India. www.ellafiskumdanz.com

Jorunn Kjersem Hildre, Dancer
Comes from Ålesund in Norway. In 2008 she finished her modern and contemporary dance education at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. ”Without a title” is her first collaboration with choreographer Emilia Adelöw.

Sigrid Hirsch Kopperdal, Dancer
BA in modern- and contemporary dance from The National Academy of the Arts in Oslo, and continued her studies at Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Sigrid is based in Oslo and has worked with choreographers such as Eva-Cecilie Richardsen, Masja Abrahamsen, Hege Haagenrud and Jana Unmussig.

Mikkel Are Olsen, Dancer
Working as an actor and dancer for 20 years in a large variation of plays and coreografies. This is his second production with Emilia.

Gitte Lill Paulsen, Dancer
Finished her bachelor degree at the National Academy Of The Arts in Oslo (KHIO) 2008. Gitte has worked fulltime as a proffesional dancer and model in Norway and NewYork, for two years. Improvised performance at the Opening Of The European Culture City, Events for Oslo Dance Ensemble, musical Grease in Oslo Spectrum, choreographed and danced several times for Ministry Of Sound in London, tribute performances on tour in Norway, The Amanda Award and Gullruten are some of the TV apperances, also dance photos for magazines and commercials as HENNE, Shapeup, Jotun and Mxdc, is some of her dancer experience.

Sindre Postholm, Dancer
Born in Trondheim and trained at The Ballet Academy in Gothenburg. He has done a number of musicals in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. He now works for Jo Stromgren Company as an understudy in ”A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football”. In 2011, Sindre can be seen in the new Tv-show ”Reisen til Popstjernen” at TV2. Sindre is also a member of the Oslo Tapdance Company.

Kira Senkpiel, Dancer
Born in Montreal Canada, but has since the age of seven been living in Norway. She started her dance education at the Norwegian National ballet school, and later completed her education at the Oslo National Academy of Arts (2008). Since then she has been working as a freelance dancer in Holland, Germany and Norway, performing in productions with film, theater and dance. This is Kiras first production with Emila Adelöw.

Professional photographer based in Oslo and has worked on an international market since the early nineties.

André Austvoll, Video editor
Photographer and video editor, does films with a focus on dance and movement. He has worked on projects in the United States, China and Brazil. André is educated from Laban Centre London and has an MA from the University of Surrey, UK.

Site Specific Nordic Project

Leif Nygaard, Dancer
This Canadian/Norwegian actor and dancer is educated in Europe. With a bachelors degree in dance and freelancing for 3 years, Leif has worked with choreographers such as Anne Grete Eriksen, Leif Hernes, Lee Blakeley, Eva-Cecilie Richardson, Signe Domogalla, Kompani B Valiente. Leif has recently relocated to Vancouver pursuing a career in film. His acting projects include “Fish In Barrel” director Randall Okita, “His White Eyes” director Betty Jiang. Leif is represented by Dorothy Szymanska at Collingwood Management.

Marianne Hauglie, Dancer
Educated in modern and contemporary dance from Khio in Oslo in 2005.She has worked with choreographers such as Kjersti Alveberg, DansDesign and Hege Haagenrud. She works closely with artphotographers, such as Knut Bry and Tom Sandberg. She also produces her own artperformances, where she combines dance and fashion. This is Marianne’s first project with Emilia Adelöw.

Ola Spek, Production Assistant
Producer, educated in media production at University West and MKFC in Sweden, Bachelor of Arts in The History of Science and Ideas at Göteborg University, Sweden. Has worked as Information Designer, Concept Designer and with different cultural projects.

Christina Lindgren, Set Designer
Scenographer with a background from Oslo and Berlin. Since 1993 she has worked as a scenographer and costume designer within theater, dance and opera in Norway, Denmark and Germany, among others at Thorshovteatret and Nasjonalteatret.

Good Night and Good Morning

Petter Wiik, composer: Rosting, Lost Grounds, Private Rooms, Good Night And Good Morning
Wiik uses live electronics in combination with originally composed music creating a unique soundscape for Adelöws performances. A soundscape witch brings the performances much alive, vibrant and closer to the audience.
Petter Wiik is educated as composer at The Norwegian Academy of Music. Currently working as teacher at Oslo National College of the Arts, Ballet and dance. His musical compositions has been used at Trøndelag Teater, Det Norske Teatret, Olavshallen, NRK Radio/TV, Black Box, Carte Blanche in Norway and at stages in London, Lithuenia, Malmö, Copenhagen and Berlin.

Bjørn Amundlien, film editor: Lost Grounds, Private Rooms, Good Night And Good Morning
Bjørn Amundlien is educated as film editor at NISS in 2002. Has worked as an editor on short films, music videos and advertising. He edited and animated The Bible witch won Norwegian Award for Best Norwegian Short Film at Bergen International Filmfestival in 2004.

Rudi Simmons, video documentation: Good Night And Good Morning
Educated at NISS – Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio, Film & Television. At the moment directs for TV, but got experience from different kinds of productions.

Tormod Lindgren, scenographer: Good Night and Good Morning
Scenographer educated in London and Prague. Has mainly worked with productions for heater among others, Riksteateret, Nasjonalteateret, Torshovteateret, Rogaland Teater and Grusomhetens teater with directors such as Lars Erik Holter, Lars Øyno, Eirik Nilssen Brøyn and Runar Hodne. In France he has worked as freelance dancer with new forms of drama as well as with a large opera/theater production at Theatre du Chatelet.

Carina Musk-Andersen, photographer: Good Night and Good Morning
Freelance photographer with a wide experience in the arts. Since 2002 she has worked as an allround photographer with a focus on live shotings, music and art. Her style is somewhere in between photography and visual arts. Customers have been Slottsfjellfestivalen, Quartfestivalen, by:Larm NEWS, Sony BMG, Premium, Ekstremsportveko, Bula, Felicia, Carbiden, Grand Island, Ida Maria, X-queen, Royalties and Blind Archery Club.

Miguel Cortés, dancer: Good Night and Good Morning.
Has since 1988 contributed in different contexts within modern dance, dance theatre, theatre, musical and film. Among the nordic choreographers that he has collaborated with is Tim Rushton, Helena Franzén, Christina Caprioli and Palle Granhøj.

Cecilie Lindeman Steen, dancer: Good Night and Good Morning.
Educated as a dancer at Oslo National College of the Arts in 1982-85 and Central School of Ballet in London in 1986. Worked as a dancer at Nye Carte Blanche in two years in 1991-92, and since then with dance groups as Collage Dansekompani, Zakraz Dansekompani, Scirocco and zero visibility corp and choreographers as Jo Strømgren, Sølvi Edvardsen, Kristina Gjems McGill, Lise Nordahl, Kjersti Alveberg, Karen Foss, Un-Magritt Nordseth, Øyvind Jørgensen, Ingun Bjørnsgaard, Giorgio Rossi and Kenneth Kvarnstrøm. The last 22 years she has been working with choreographer Ina Christel Johannessen.

Maria Naidu, dancer: Good Night and Good Morning.
Debuted as a dancer in 1987 and as a choreographer in 1989. She was offered a company memebership with Jennifer Muller/THE WORKS in 1991. After 13 years in New York and 8 with THE WORKS she decided to return to Europe and her own choreography in 1998. Since her return to europe she has participated in a myriad of productions, tried her talents as an actress and has worked as rehearsal director (and later artistic director) for Swedish based Norrdans.
